2: The History of Dowsing

The history of Dowsing was first recorded  in cave drawings found in Spain which were dated 40,000 to 50,000 years ago.Throughout the centuries  more evidence was recorded that dowsing was used to find water or ore deposits. Queen Elizabeth I of England in 1566 had German miners come to England to teach the English miners to find ore deposits by dowsing. In more recent times further records have been kept relating to the use of rods or pendulums for dowsing. If you Google The history of Dowsing there are many references you can read.
                                                                                                                                                                                                BEGINNER DOWSER
A close friend also had a pendulum and as beginners we were not really confident in any reaction we may have received. We had been told about The Dowsing Society of Victoria at Mount Waverley. We inquired about when the meetings were held, with our pendulums in our pockets off we embarked not being too sure what we would find. When we walked into the room we were warmly greeted and there wasn't one person there with two heads or wearing a pointed hat, the folk attending the meeting, men, women and some children, of all ages were ordinary people just like you or me. After listening to the guest speaker we knew there was so much to learn. The small library had books on Dowsing that we could borrow. We were guided by the acting librarian which books were suitable for beginners. The gift stall had an array of pendulums, beautiful pendulums, practical  pendulums of different colours, shapes and prices. We were advised that when choosing a pendulum the one that appeals to you is the one to buy. So armed with a new pendulum, two books on dowsing ,we farewelled our new friends knowing  that this was just the beginning of a new journey.
